The Prints of Ernest Fiene:
A Catalogue Raisonné --
in progress

One advantage of a catalogue raisonné on the web is the ability to elicit information from a wide range of collectors, dealers, museum curators, and others with knowledge of Ernest Fiene's prints that may help us to add to or correct the catalogue. As you probably know, the goal of a catalogue raisonné of an artist's prints is to publish a complete and authoritative listing of, along with all relevant information about, every print the artist has produced. Therefore, if you have any of the following, please contact us:

  • A print (lithograph, etching, woodcut, etc.) or prints by Ernest Fiene (American, b. Germany, 1894-1965) -- whether already listed in the catalogue or not
  • Works in other media by Fiene (e.g. oils, watercolors, drawings, etc.)
  • Information about or knowledge of either of the above -- even if you don't have a work or works yourself
  • Information about Ernest Fiene's life, especially with regard to his printmaking
  • Questions about anything in the catalogue

Also, if you spot an error of any kind, please let us know. To be most helpful, let us know the page on which the error occurs by copying the URL and pasting it into your e-mail, or by otherwise identifying the page.

Finally, scholars interested in exploring the possibilities of online publication for their catalogues raisonné -- either as an alternative or a supplement to the publication of a CR in print--should contact us. We will be happy to discuss the possibility of publication on the website of the Fiene Quintanilla Online Catalogue Raisonné Project. For further information on this subject, please visit About FQOCRP.
